Grain Terminal for Cleaning and Storage of Corn - World Bank Project, Jilin Province, China

Dust Collector: 3 of: DCS 81/3RFS Reverse Flow Shaker Collectors
Filter Area 355m2 Total
Fan: DCS 500L Backward inclined Centrifugal Direct Drive 11kW

DCS 81/3RFS   The location of this collector experiences temperatures of 40oC in Summer and -35oC in Winter. With these extremes, compressed air could not be used for cleaning as condensation would freeze in the line and cause ruptures. DCS designed a reverse flow shaker collector to allow one cell of each unit to be offline for cleaning while the remaining cells handle the air quantity. This type of collector would only be used where there are compelling reasons such as climatic extremes, as they are not as efficient as our normal systems.

Replacement Plenum for Flour Mill - Goodman Fielder Mills

Dust Collector: DCS 85/3TR
Filter Area: 124m2
Fan: DCS 760L Backward Inclined Centrifugal Direct Drive 37kW

DCS 85/3TR   Many of the flour mills in Australia were fitted with dust collectors many years ago in order to limit lost product as much as for environmental reasons. The early systems used either shakers or reverse flow methods for cleaning. These methods were not efficient and resulted in filter needing to be changed every 6-8 weeks. With the new system filters do not need changing for over five years. During the last ten years most of the old systems have been changed to reverse pulse jet and the photograph shows a conversion module built to fit onto the original casing. The tangential inlet takes the place of the drop out plenum used on larger systems. Explosion vents are fitted to the old casing for safety and vented to outside the work space.
