Boyne Smelters produce aluminium in a process which requires a non stop operation. Any stoppages would cause major problems, and this dust collector was designed so that even a complete change of filters can be done without the need to shut down. The collector is divided into cells so that the different product streams remain separate, and so that a cell can be isolated without interruption of the airflow.

Crushing & Bagging of Electro-Fused Magnesia - Queensland Magnesia Ltd

This dust collector exhausts from the crushing and screening plant at Qld. Magnesia and controls dust at conveyor transfer points, screen decks and crushers. Due to the dense nature of the dust, conveying velocities need to be between 20 and 24 meters per second. The process plant here is similar to quarrying and mineral processing equipment. Collected dust is removed from the collector by an inclined screw convertor to a dust hopper, from which it is recycled.

Our client had several large overseas contracts and need to abrasive blast tonnes of structural steel and hoppers, bins etc. With the tight environmental laws, he needed to stop the dust emitting from the work area, and his staff were having difficulty seeing the work they were blasting. In addition, a great amount of abrasive was being lost. This collector addressed all of these problems and incorporates an abrasive cleaner for recycling the shot. Underfloor conveyors collect the used abrasive and convey it to the cleaner and then to a surge bin for recycling.
