DCS 200/3.6T Dust Collector |
| Air Quantity: |
58,000m3/hr |
| Fan: |
Backward Inclined |
 |
|
This dust collector provides the extraction and collection of timber
shavings and dust from high speed moulders at Kyogle, NSW. The collected waste is used to feed boilers for drying
the incoming green timber. DCS provided a turn key system including touch screen controls and all material handling
& storage requirements for the system. |

DCS 760L Backward Inclined Centrifugal Belt Drive 55kW |

This dust collector replaced a series of cyclones when the client
relocated to larger premises. The previous systems used three 37 kW and two 11 kW motors, and was replaced with a
single 55 kW and delivered 35,700 m3/hr, an increase of 35% more than the old system with far less power. No
emission from the DCS dust collector is visible and is estimated to be less than 10 mg/m3, where the allowable
level is 100 mg/m3. The previous cyclone system was over 250 mg/m3 and left a residue of dust over the whole work area. |
Wood Working Machines - Product: DCS Ducting Systems
 |
|
The proper design of the ducting system is crucial to the ability of
the system to remove the waste from the machinery, but it is this design area many systems fail. For the system to
work efficiently, it is important that carrying velocities suitable for the product being conveyed are maintained at
all points in the line. Turbulence at branch lines must be kept to a minimum and laminar flow (ie low turbulence) in
the ducting maintained. This photograph shows a part of a system with approximately 30 wood working machines
including beam saw, auto router, wide belt and stroke sanders, spindle moulders, planer, thicknesser and various
other machines. The system was computer designed by DCS to ensure the correct air quantity was maintained at each
point, and the pressure drop between each point and the collector is in equilibrium. All branches enter the main line
at 30 degrees to the main axis and enter only on the side or top of the main duct to prevent blockages. |
