Silo Discharger

When a range of particle sizes are stored together in a bin, there is a tendency for the contents to pack together with the smaller particle filling the interstices which cause the product to hang up or “bridge” in the silo.

The Silo Discharger is designed to break this arch and allow the product to be fed at a controllable rate.

Operation

The Silo Discharger uses a geared motor to drive a wiper blade which runs close to the bottom plate.

This bottom plate is fitted with either on or multiple adjustable feed dampers which give close control over the material flow.

A modified auger is driven from the shedder plate through a universal joint to break the bond with the cone wall and cause the product to drop to the shedder plate.

This system has been used primarily in the timber industry and grain handling areas and has proved highly successful.
